How Your Snapshot Film Works

Getting Started

Call us on 020 8838 4084 for an informal chat about what we could do for you with no obligation.

Let us know what occasion you want to mark and what sort of family archive (photographs/DVDs/VHS etc.) you want to include. See TYPES OF FILM page for guidance.

Commissioning Your Snapshot Film

We provide you with a quote for the film and a contract. Once you decide to go ahead we request 50% of the cost of the film when you commission it. When you approve the final version of the film (including any edit changes you have requested) you sign off the film. Payment of the balance is then required before the film is delivered to you.

Preproduction

To start working on your film we take all your photographs and video/ film footage, transfer it all onto a digital format and start making decisions about what material to include and the key points to bring out.

Preproduction on average takes two to four weeks for films with archive to be viewed, scanned and digitised. Films, which don’t include archive but simply record a party or an event can be set up within a few days

All the logistics of production, if you want original filming by us, including who to interview, filming location and the line of questioning will all be discussed with you as we respond to any ideas or requests you may have for the film.

Production

If you want us to include some original filming by an experienced broadcast standard production team, we will work closely with you to make sure we capture all the necessary people and events/locations at the key times.

Post Production

The time required to edit your Snapshot Film depends on the scale of the project but as a guide takes between two and six weeks. We aim to meet all our customer's deadlines as most of our films are made as presents for special occasions.

You will be invited to view the edit towards the end of the process to give us your feedback. As a lot of our clients are busy we make life simple by coming to you.  We then make any changes and the film is ready to be delivered to you.

Delivery

Your Snapshot film will be on a chaptered DVD with your chosen title and will be sent by registered post or couriered along with your original archive. The DVD is presented in an attractive film can style tin with our Snapshot Films logo. Additional copies of the DVD can be bought and we can also provide you with digital file formats.
